Our host is Former Versailles mayor, and FBC member, Terry Silvey.

Acts 1:8 Challenge

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."  ~New American Standard Bible

The Acts 1:8 Challenge gives churches the opportunity and the commitment of a mission strategy to the four fields; Jerusalem (Versailles Missouri), Judea (The state of Missouri and the Region), Samaria (The United States, Canada, and Mexico and the Ends of the earth (The whole Globe).  Here at First Baptist Church of Versailles, we wish to take part, not only in missions but to be a witness to others that God and Jesus exist and live through us. We ask you to come and be part of our Mission to Witness God. Through this Challenge not only will we be able to grow as a church but we will be able to help others grow as a Family, Community, and World.
We have different sectors of our Acts 1:8 Challenge. With those different Sectors, we have different people that have come forward and are leading us to our mission in witnessing for God, areas of focus include:
  • Jerusalem
  • Disaster Relief
  • Church Partnering
  • Baptist Builders
  • Jerusalem
  • Prayer
  • SpirutalGrowth
There are Eight Commitments that we will also be using, the eight commitments are to help encourage a church and ready our church for the witnessing that we will have. We must:
  1. Prepare--This empowers us and designates leasers of Missions and teams and plans to take the gospel to all.
  2. Learn--Bringing the awareness and interactions to the entire church body.
  3. Pray--Asking God for the perspective he wishes us to have
  4. Give--Increasing support
  5. Go--Enabling a growing number of members giving us the opportunity to spread beyond the walls of the church
  6. Tell--Involve numbers of members in evangelism cultural as well as spiritually
  7. Send--Provide members with opportunities to hear and respond to the Call God has given us
  8. Multiply--Participating in church movements.
There is much more that we want to do with this ministry and we plan on going above and beyond to witness for God.
